1 Day Jinja Safari – 1 Day Jinja Tour Uganda Adventure Safaris
Jinja is a town in southern Uganda, on the shore of Lake Victoria. The source of the Nile, at Coronation Park, is marked by a garden and a monument honoring British explorer John Hanning Speke. Owen Falls Dam and Bujagali Dam both span the Nile. Farther north on the river, Itanda Falls is known for its white-water rapids. East of Jinja, on Lake Victoria, Samuka Island is home to birdlife, including little egrets. This 1 Day Jinja Safari takes you through the beauty of Jinja town as one of Uganda’s top tourist destinations.
1 DAY JINJA SAFARI.
Morning session.
The 1 Day Jinja Safari starts with a transfer from Kampala and visit to the cam and quiet Ssezibwa falls and Mabiira forest.
After early morning breakfast at your lodge/hotel, you will be picked by our driver guide and set off for a morning drive on Jinja road which will lead you to the first stopover at the historical Ssezibwa water falls which is approximately 32 kilometers east of Kampala in Mukono district. The falls are about 7m with a sweet hissing sound produced by the falling water that creates a beautiful scenery.
Not only will you enjoy the water falls but also a variety of bird species which are present a wonderful opportunity for birding activities and others such as nature walks, rock climbing , hiking, canoeing among others.

After the Ssezibwa falls, you will then continue to Mabira forest for a 2 hour walk within the forest that is about 300 square kilometers situated in Buikwe district between Lugazi and Jinja district. During your walk in this beautiful national rainforest, you will be able to sight on a variety of bird species accompanied by some primate species. An interesting thing about this natural forest is that, you will have a one hour walk within the forest without sighting on the sun because of its thickness and great temperatures.
Visiting the source of the Nile and birding
After the amazing experience in the forest, you will then proceed to Jinja for lunch breaks and later head to the source of Nile River where you may decide to have a picnic and still enjoy numerous bird species and a number of lizards that meander across the Nile source. While at this site, you will point out where the Nile River separates from Lake Victoria where a stream of water runs to the North forming the Victoria Nile co-joining the Albert Nile in the Murchison falls national park and then continue in Southern Sudan forming the Blue and White Nile which continues to Egypt in the Mediterranean sea.
Right after the experience, you will then return and drive through the Jinja main street and get back to Kampala early evening by 5:30pm marking the end of your 1 Day Jinja Safari.
